Applications open for 2020 high school places

Parents and carers of children are being urged to apply for the secondary schools in the area they want their children to attend.

Applications are now open for children starting secondary school in September 2020, including Newtown and Llanidloes high schools.
 
Parents or carers of children who are now in Year Six have until Friday, 15 November to complete their application.
 
The application form can be filled in at www.powys.gov.uk, search 'Apply for a Secondary School Place' where details can be found.
 
Cllr Phyl Davies, Cabinet Member for Education, said: “All parents/carers should complete this application as soon as possible for a place in a secondary school in September 2020.
 
“If it is not completed in time, then this may jeopardise their child’s place ate their preferred school.”
