A Newtown pub with the town's longest serving landlord has appeared in the latest edition of the Good Pub Guide for the 24th consecutive year.
Published by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), The Good Pub Guide 2020 has included the The Railway Tavern in Old Kerry Road.
The pub has been run by the same landlord, David Jones, for 37 years.
The pub has three changing real ales on at all times often from local/regional breweries The one room traditional pub is a firm favorite with CAMRA members and locals. The pub supports local darts and dominoes teams.
Commenting on the many changes he's seen during his term as the longest serving landlord in Newtown, David known affectionately to regulars as Taff claims to have changed the carpet twice.
