23/09/2019 @ 01:12
Residents in Newtown and Llanidloes will be able to learn more about what and how they can recycle more as part of a roadshow.

Waste awareness officers from Powys County Council will be holding a roadshow  when it visits Llanidloes's Co-Op store on Friday and then Newtown Library on 1 October.

The events will take place between 10am and 2pm.

Recycle Week, which takes place this week, is a celebration of recycling and the aim of the week encourage everyone to recycle more and also demonstrates the benefits of recycling items from all around the home.

Cllr Phyl Davies, Cabinet Member for Waste and Recycling, said: “We are proud of our recycling record and the efforts of our residents in recycling as much as they can.

“However, we know that we can do better and Recycle Weeks gives an opportunity to show how many materials can be recycled instead of going into landfill.

“I would urge residents to pop along to one of our roadshows and speak to our waste awareness officers face-to-face and get handy tips and advice on how to boost their recycling efforts.”
