Former mayor resigns from town council

A former mayor of Newtown has resigned from Newtown Town Council.

Cllr Sue Newham, who was the mayor of Newtown before the current incumbent Cllr David Selby, has resigned from her North Ward seat.

It means a vacancy has become available on the town council.

Councillors will discuss the vacancy at their meeting on Monday.
