06/09/2019 @ 08:57
The subject of 3D Astronomy will be the topic of discussion at the next meeting of Newtown Astronomy Society.

The meeting and a talk will take place at The Crypt at Newtown Catholic Church on Longbridge Street at 7pm on Saturday, 14 September.

Dr Tony Cook of Aberystwyth University will give the talk.

Society secretary, Les Fry, said: "As the Assistant Director of the British Astronomical Association Lunar Section and Co-ordinator of their Lunar Change programme, Tony Cook has access to a remarkable array of 3D photographs of various astronomical objects.

"During his talk, Tony will be showing and describing just what more we can learn from seeing images in 3D across a range of astronomical bodies."

Full membership of the society is £20 for 10 meetings a year or £3.50 for visitors attending a single meeting.
