A Newtown county councillor has resigned

One of Newtown's Powys County Councillors has resigned.
Councillor Neil Morrison has resigned from the council with immediate effect.
He has has represented Newtown South since May 2017.
Other county councillors in the town will take over responsibility to assist constituents with help until a by-election is held.
Powys County Council said the date for a by-election will be announced shortly.
No details have been given as to the reason for Cllr Morrison's resignation.
The council said any constituents with enquiries or requesting help should contact one of the other town's county councillors:
