Three teenagers have been arrested following a serious assault in Newtown.
A 54-year-old man had to be taken to hospital following the incident along the footpath that adjoins the Gravel car park in Shortbridge Street and the top river path, according to police.
"A 54-year-old old man, who was in the company of two females and a dog, received injuries which required hospital treatment.
"Three males, two aged 17 and one aged 16, were arrested on suspicion of assault. They have been released on police bail pending further enquiries," said a police spokesperson.
