Newtown-based Citizens Advice Powys has become the first advice agency in the county to be awarded the new Welsh Government Quality Mark Scheme.

Deputy Minister, Jane Hutt, announced that the Citizens Advice Service had been independently assessed as fully compliant with the new National Information and Advice Quality Framework that all Advice providers in Wales will need to be accredited under.

"As such Citizens Advice Powys are proud to be the first advice agency in Powys to be able to use the new WG accreditation logo on its published material alongside the other regulatory and compliance quality standards its holds such as the:- Financial Conduct Authority, Advice Quality Standard and Charity Commission," said Yasmin Bell of Citizens Advice Powys.

"Quality Assurance is very important to us as an independent advice service provider.

"We are called upon to help some of the most vulnerable people in our communities with very complex and life limiting problems.

"They deserve an advice service they can be confident is quality assured, independent of all other parties and is externally accredited as being so."
