Residents in Newtown are being reminded about the opportunity to apply to become a magistrate in the area.
The Ministry of Justice has launched a recruitment campaign looking for people to sit as magistrates in north Powys.
Last week they put out an appeal for anyone interested to attend an open day that will be held on Thursday
“Anyone aged between 18 and 70 can sit as a magistrate and you don’t need any formal qualifications as training is provided,” said a spokesperson for the Ministry of Justice.
While the local magistrates sit at Welshpool Magistrates Court, the Ministry of Justice wants to recruit people from Newtown and other local communities that represent Montgomeryshire.
