17/07/2019 @ 07:58

The design and manufacturing of clothes for Liberty of London will be the subject of a talk at Newtown Textile Museum later this month.

Stephanie Kemp, Newtown Textile Museum’s curator, will be giving a talk linked to the museum’s summer exhibition `Designed for Liberty’ at 7pm on 26 July.

She will be sharing her experience of designing and manufacturing clothes for Liberty of London in the 1970s and 80s.  Doors open at 6pm for visitors to see the museum first. It will be £3 for entry.

A further `taster’ session to try spinning and weaving, run courtesy of Tesco’s Bags of Help, will be on 25 July at 10am.

Booking should be made via www.newtowntextilemuseum.co.uk.

The volunteer-run Newtown Textile Museum Commercial Street continues to attract visitors from all over the world as it continues its summer season of opening and special events.
