Mayor helps out at community cafe

Volunteers at Newtown Community Cafe were today joined by the newly installed Mayor of the town.

Cllr David Selby joined the volunteers at the Methodist Church in Back Lane where he helped clear up with the volunteers who help supply hot meals every Wednesday lunchtime.  

"This is a wonderful community effort to supply hot mails to those who may not have access to them every week.  Using donated food from shops and businesses in the town they provide a variety of meals every Wednesday," said Cllr Selby.

"It is a great opportunity not only for a meal but for people to meet and enjoy the company and chat that the café provides."
