Man jailed over college burglary and assault

A man has been jailed for 16 months following a burglary and assault at NTPC Group's Newtown college campus.

Billy Lau, 21, from Rowley Regis, West Midland, was jailed at Mold Crown Court. He is the second man to be jailed over the incident in August 2017.

Stuart Jones, 41, of Tipton, Sandwell, was jailed for four years at an earlier court case at which he pleaded not guilty to burglary and assault.

The two men were alleged to have entered the college and were stealing tools when they were approached by two caretakers.

One of the caretakers was struck on the head with a weapon, resulting in serious injuries.
