Preparations underway for annual carnival

Preparations are well underway for this Saturday's Newtown Carnival.

Organisers have already held events throughout the week in the lead up to the event.

The carnival will include the float procession leaving Lower Canal Road at 12noon and touring the town centre before event kick off at the Town Hall Grounds where the crowning of the Carnival Queen and King will take place.

Music, events and entertainment are planned throughout the afternoon.
