Lorry strikes railway bridge and blocks road

A hay lorry has blocked the A489 in Newtown after striking the Nantoer Railway Bridge.

Police closed Llanidloes Road this morning after the lorry’s load struck the bridge, pushing bails of hay on to the road.

Network Rail are checking the structure of the bridge and traffic has been diverted while the lorry and its load are removed.
