Abermule Communities Together (ACT) chairman, Jeff Mathews, said: “We fully expected this decision by cabinet to go against us. We were disappointed by the lack of support from some cabinet members.

“These are commensurate compensation for taking on the rubbish from the whole of north Powys.”
ACT vice-chairman, Stephen Meadowcroft, said: “The legal challenge will be expensive but we feel the costs can be covered.

Mr Mathews added: “It is hard to believe that officers in County Hall with all of their resources could not find a site available for this anywhere in North Powys away from people.”
