Newtown residents are being urged to consider fostering a child as part of a week-long campaign being run by Powys County Council which includes an event in the town.

Foster Care Fortnight runs from Monday 13 to 26 May to raise the profile of fostering and the transformational power of foster care - the power to #changeafuture.

"Powys County Council’s Fostering Service is passionate about the difference that foster care makes to the lives of fostered children and young people," said a spokesperson.

"If you think you have the relevant skills and experience, we're calling on you to consider becoming foster carers so that you can also #changeafuture."

To find out more about fostering in Powys the team will be out and about throughout the fortnight. Come and meet us and have a chat about fostering in Powys at:
