Final act of the season for Newtown ADS

24/04/2019 @ 02:22

Newtown Amateur Dramatic Society will perform its final production of the season next week with its production of Dead Guilty.

The play will be performed at Powys Theatre in Canal Road from Monday, 29 April to Saturday, 4 May, with performances starting at 7.45pm.

The play, written by Richard Harris, is described as "a tense psychological study of guilt and obsession."

"Dead Guilty concerns an attractive young graphic artist whose leg is badly injured in a car crash that occurred when a business associate suffered a fatal heart attack at the wheel.  Housebound and depressed, Julia is tormented when things disappear, a Mexican orange blossom materialises in her Victorian terrace garden and someone prowls upstairs at night.

"While a kindly counsellor contends with Julia’s suicidal tendencies and a besotted handyman helps around the house, the excessively solicitous widow invades Julia’s life.  Suspense builds and anxiety turns to fear as the play reaches its chilling conclusion."

Tickets are £8 with concessions at £7 and friends of the society at £5 and are available from Oriel Davies Gallery in Newtown or by telephoning 01686 623463 or 07767 360372.
