Montgomery has been named in the Wales Top 10 by The Sunday Times for best places to live in the UK.
The list assesses a wide range of factors, from employment, schools and broadband speed to culture, community spirit and local shops.
Crickhowell, which pipped Welshpool to the Best High Street title recently, has been named as the best place to live in Wales, with Montgomery joining them in the top 10 along with towns like Aberdyfi, Abersoch, Mumbles and Carmarthen.
Helen Davies, Sunday Times home editor, said: “This year we were looking for community spirit along with convenience and culture. There are so many great places that the choice was a hard one.”
The guide, including the overall UK winner, will be published on 14 April.
