Man tasered after going towards police wielding knives

A man who came towards police wielding knives after being found causing criminal damage had to be tasered before being arrested.

PS Tom Marshall said on Twitter: "Excellent work by Newtown officers PC 186/616 who arrested persons in Llanidloes for criminal damage/bladed article.

"Detainee came towards officers carrying knives. Taser used."

He said the police body cameras recorded the incident and added: "Some quick decision making and good aftercare."
