Have your say on the future of Newtown

04/04/2019 @ 09:41

Newtown residents are being urged to attend a public event next week to have their say on how they want to town to develop over the next 10 years.

Newtown Town Council will host a second "Place Plan" event where they will highlight key opportunities for the town and where residents can give their views on what they would like to see in the town and how it develops.

The event will take place at Newtown High School on Thursday, 11 April between 5pm and 7pm.

Councillor Richard Edwards, who is leading on the Place Plan project, said: “The events are designed to be lively, with different hands-on activities and a chance to talk face to face.

"People can drop in and spend as much or as little time as they wish. We hope people will take the opportunity to come and tell us their views on topics like housing, play areas, health and community facilities.”

The Place Plan will influence the way in which planning applications are assessed in future and will also help attract even more investment into the town.

Additional events are planned for May in other neighbourhoods such as Treowen and the Canal Road area and an online survey will also be launched later this month.
