Body found in search for missing Sean Miller

A body has been recovered from the River Severn in Newtown during a search for missing 22-year-old Sean Miller.

Police have not confirmed the identity of the body which was recovered from the river this morning near St Giles Golf Club.

Police, firefighters and others have been searching for Sean Miller since last month after he went missing over four weeks ago.

The latest searches have been taking place on the River Severn by a specialist boat unit from the Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service.

A Dyfed Powys Police statement said: “It is with sadness that Dyfed-Powys Police can confirm a body has been found during the search for missing Sean Miller, from Newtown. Our thoughts are with his family, who have been informed of the development. They are being supported by specially trained officers at this time.
 
“HM Coroner is aware; formal identification has not yet taken place.”
