A Newtown businessman has been named as a finalist in the 2019 St David Awards.
Hilltop Honey founder, Scott Davies, has been shortlisted after being named at a ceremony in Cardiff.
He has been shortlisted in the enterprise category of the awards.
The national St David Awards Scheme acknowledges people who are making a real difference for this country – either at home or abroad. They are great marks of distinction and the highest accolades that Welsh Government confers on our citizens nationally.
Now in its sixth year, the St David Awards have celebrated some inspirational individuals and groups within the Welsh community over the years, many of whom are now household names.
Past winners include Musician Cerys Matthews, professional cyclist Geraint Thomas MBE, Actor and UNICEF Ambassador Michael Sheen OBE and most recently, Paralympian athlete, Aled Sion Davies MBE.
Scott Davies, Managing Director of Hilltop Honey, said: “I am hugely honoured for my business Hilltop Honey to be shortlisted for the Enterprise category in this year’s St David Awards. We are proud to be representing the Welsh food and drink industry in such a prestigious award.
Hilltop Honey has experienced considerable growth over the last seven years.
It expanded into the 14,000 sq ft purpose-built factory in Newtown in 2017 increasing production and a capability to deliver a capacity of filling 850,000 jars a month.

The St David Awards will celebrate people who are making a real difference across a number of categories at the St David Awards Ceremony & Dinner held at the Senedd, Cardiff Bay on Thursday, 21st March 2019.
