Bypass opening date is imminent

A date for the official opening of the Newtown bypass is imminent.

MyNewtown understands Transport Minister Ken Skates and the Welsh Government could confirm the date within days and the bypass will be open within weeks.

Contractors have been busy completing the bypass since the start of the year with the majority of road, landscaping and safety work completed.

A source told MyNewtown that a date could be announced as early as Friday, with the road opened by the middle of February and a formal opening at a later date.
