Newtown-based Mid Wales Housing Association has acquired a local electrical contractor.
The housing association has revealed it has acquired EOM (Electrical Contractors) Ltd based at the Mochdre Industrial Estate.
It is understood the housing association is one of the company's main customers.
The arrangement sees Mid Wales Housing take 100 per cent of the shareholding in EOM, making them part of the Mid Wales Housing Group of companies but operating at arm’s length, according to the association.
"EOM will remain an independent trading company," it stated.
Shane Perkins, Chief Executive of Mid Wales Housing said: “We have been working with EOM for more than 23 years. As well as being one of the largest electrical contractors in Mid Wales, EOM has grown significantly as a repairs and maintenance service contractor.
"Over that time, we have received excellent feedback from our tenants and leaseholders across Powys and North Ceredigion about the service that EOM provides."
"By working with EOM in this way, Mid Wales Housing are able to continue to provide the high-quality repairs and maintenance service to tenants. It will also support EOM so that it can further expand its business, undertake more work of all types and enable further employment of locally-based apprentices and tradespeople, all of which contributes to a stronger local economy."
Sharron Morris, of EOM (Electrical Contractors) Ltd. added: “Mid Wales Housing and EOM (Electrical Contractors) Ltd are looking forward to working more closely together and are confident that this arrangement will build on the good relationship that already exists between us and be of mutual benefit to customers”.
