A Romanian man who was found with 245 vehicle hub caps in his car has admitted six charges of theft.
Gheorghe Cosmin Lutoacia, 29 of Short Bridge Street, Llanidloes, admitted stealing the inserts at North East Wales Magistrates Court in Mold.
It followed a spate of thefts in the Newtown area between 19 and 27 December, as reported by MyNewtown. Lutoacia said another man had stolen the hub caps.
Police had monitored CCTV coverage and stopped Lutoacia's car where they recovered a stolen bicycle and the hub caps.
He was bailed by magistrates on condition that he lives at his home address and does not leave the country.
He will appear before magistrates at a later date for sentencing.
