Rail users struck by two cancellations

On what could have been one of the busiest days for local people hoping to get to visit Shrewsbury on Sunday it was announced that two services on the Cambrian Railway had been cancelled.

The 12.40pm and 2.40pm services from Newtown to Shrewsbury were cancelled with no bus services offered as an alternative.

Transport for Wales, which has taken over the service from Arriva Trains Wales and has been under attack for having cancelled services, delays and a lack of rolling stock, said the cancellations were due to a lack of crew.

Other services were on time.
