Plans have been submitted to offer “superior quality” caravans at a site near Caersws.
The Bebb family, who run the Sunny View Caravan park at Bwlch-y-Ffridd, want to extend the site in order to provide five-holiday lodges and 15 superior caravans and associated landscaping.
Planning consultants and building designers Hughes Architects in the Design and Access Statement, said: “The site forms an extension to an established and successful tourism development.
“The proposal is to extend the site to offer a lower density and more exclusive option for discerning holidaymakers.”
The structures would be placed further apart which would allow for greater privacy and exclusivity
Hughes Architects of Newtown, added: “It is proposed to make a slightly higher market offer than what is currently provided in terms of the type of accommodation.

“This would enable current customers to trade-up and attract new clients looking to invest in a more exclusive type of holiday homes.
“A key feature of this kind of scheme is the lower density of units on site allowing greater privacy and exclusivity and also a site which is more attractive in appearance and less intrusive in this rural setting.”
Caersws Community Council has discussed the application and said as the access from Bethal Road to Bwlch y Garreg is very narrow they would have no objections if sufficient
But a resident has sent in an objection. They say: “The access to the site is over two miles of single track road.
“I feel that it is unsafe for extra vehicles and caravans using this road, it is a school bus route and there has already been a road traffic incident due to increased traffic.
They add: “As the site is so rural there have been people using this site as residential rather than holiday homes, and adding caravans will only increase this.”
