A new community cafe is being launched in Newtown allowing those in need to receive a healthy three course meal.
The Newtown Community Cafe will operate on a "pay as you feel" basis, according to organisers of the not for profit organisation.
Operating every Wednesday between 12pm and 1.30pm at the town's Methodist Church in Back Lane, it has received the backing and support from Evans Cafe and Morrisons supermarket.
"The aim is to provide a nutritious meal and at the same time to minimise food waste," said Helen Kynaston, chairperson of the committee behind the initiative.
She said all were welcome with the aim of supporting those "in need in the local community."
The cafe will open at 11am for teas and coffees.
