Burst mains pipe closes roads and Montgomery School

News is reaching MyNewtown of a major mains water burst in Montgomery which has closed roads and the local school.

The Montgomery web site is reporting that the B4385 road is closed between Chirbury Road/The Pound and Gaol Road while Severn Trent fix a major water leak. 
New Road is struggling under weight of traffic, and with vehicles passing on the pavements and verges so motorists are being advised to avoid the area.

Montgomery Primary School has no water supply and has been forced to close for the day and Tanat Valley Coaches has announced that the 558 and T12 service will not be operating.
Disruptions to water supplies are expected in the area.
