Hundreds take part in bypass run and walk

Hundreds of people are today taking part in the Newtown bypass 5k race and run.

Griffiths Contractors and local groups have arranged the runs which have been taking place since this morning. Many have also taken part in a walk along the road which has been temporarily opened to the public for the event.

Montgomeryshire AM, Russell George, was among those who helped push for the charity event before the road is completed and opened next year.

Local runners and many from outside the area took part in the first "competitive" race before fun runs and walks.
