Finance Apprentice

Control Techniques is part of the Industrial Automation business within the Nidec Group. We are a leading provider of sophisticated automation equipment, used in commercial and industrial applications. Our innovative products are used in the most demanding applications requiring performance, reliability and energy efficiency to enhance the productivity of our customers' machines and processes.

This role will cover a wide range of duties supporting the finance team in managing, processing and troubleshooting various accountancy functions and transactions, whilst undertaking a formal qualification, alongside day-to-day administration.

This role would be an ideal opportunity for someone wanting to start a career in finance and accounting or to gain experience within a finance department. Full training will be given in this role.
The successful candidate’s main responsibilities will include:

·         Accounts Payable

o    Manage allocated supplier accounts by processing and requesting approval of invoices before payment is due and in accordance with the DOA

o    Ensure a high level of accuracy in the processing of invoices

o    Ensure supplier balances are reconciled to the ledger on a regular basis and action required maintenance

·         Cash allocation:

o    Support the Cash Allocation clerk

o    Ensure that all customer payments are allocated accurately to the AR ledger on a timely basis

Bank Payments

o    Support the payments Controller

o    Ensure all payments made conform to the bank mandate, are correct and conform to the supplier terms

·         Balance Sheet Reconciliations of Cash and Bank accounts, Accounts payable and accounts receivable ledger

·         VAT and Intrastat

o    Assist with the completion of VAT and Intrastat for Romania, UK & France

o    Ensure statutory compliance with all of the above

·         Month End reporting - Preparation of journals and analysis to enable the monthly reporting process

  Qualifications, Experience and Profile:

·          GCSE level education including English and Maths (grade C or above)

·          Problem solving and issue recognition along with excellent attention to detail

·          Team player with excellent work ethic.
