Two men carrying large knives have been arrested after a foot chase through the town.
Police caught one man and found the knives (pictured) before arresting another man with larger knives.
PS Ash Brice of Newtown Police said the arrests were down to proactive foot patrols in the town.
"Proactive patrols in @DPPNewtown yesterday. Foot chase led to male detained who was in possession of these knives," he tweeted.
"Another male located within minutes with three large knives. Right place, right time = #SaferStreets."
It is understood the men were arrested yesterday and are being questioned.
