Free IT training sessions are being offered to Welshpool area residents aged 54 and over to help them get back to work.

The free one-to-one sessions in basic ICT skills and support to undertake a short ‘Introduction to Health & Safety at Work’ course are being provided by Workways+ in libraries across Powys.

North Powys Support Officer, Janet Davies said; “The sessions are being held in the libraries across Powys and there is already a great deal of interest in them.  Delivering them in libraries really works too because they have the equipment available we need, the staff here are really helpful and people can come back and practice on the computers again in their own time.”

Workways+ Powys is a project that gives free, individual and tailored support to help people into employment or self-employment.  It’s open to people across Powys who are aged 54 and older and who are not currently working or registered unemployed.

Delivered by Prime Cymru and funded by the European Social Fund and Powys County Council, it provides free one-to-one help with on-line and traditional job-seeking, interview skills, CV writing, sourcing trial work placements, training and guidance in setting up in business.

If you or someone you know would like to get involved then see Workways+ Powys on Facebook for more information or contact: Janet Davies or 07507 795048
