A planning inspector has allowed an appeal against the refusal for a communications company to erect a 17.5 metre mobile mast for 4G near Tregynon.

CTIL and Telefonica UK Ltd appealed against Powys County Council refusal to give planning permission for a mast, three aerials and two satellite dishes at Ty’n y Bryn Farm, near Tregynon.

Objectors had said the mast would adversely impact on the local area.

Appeal inspector, Declan Beggan, said: “The main issues are the effect of the proposed development on the character and appearance of the area and upon the living conditions of occupiers of dwellings in the general area with particular regard to outlook.”

In allowing his appeal, he stated: “I have found that the proposed development would not be detrimental to the character or appearance of the area, nor to adjacent residential amenity. After taking account of all the evidence before me, and for the reasons given above, I conclude that the appeal should be allowed.”
