Rail staff are warning people not to help train passengers with their luggage on to trains at Newtown after reports several have been locked in and ended up on "unplanned trips" to Welshpool.
A poster has been placed at Newtown Railway Station warning the public not to help family and friends on to the Arriva Trains along the Cambrian Railway amid a number of incidents of "passengers" taking unexpected trips.
The poster states: "Please do not board trains to help carry luggage on for passengers. Trains are not scheduled to wait here and the doors will close promptly at departure time.
"Several passengers have had unplanned trips to Welshpool recently - beware."
It is not known if the "passengers" have been asked to pay for tickets for their unexpected journeys.
