People who want to remember lost loved ones are being invited to a special church service in Newtown next month.

Severn Hospice, which cares for families in Mid Wales and Shropshire living with an incurable illness, is holding the service at All Saints Church in the town on March 8.

Harry Edwards, who leads the hospice’s chaplaincy team, said: “We are inviting people to take some special time together and to remember those they miss every day.

“It’s a service open to anyone, not just those families we’ve cared, and is focused on remembering rather than prayers. We are very grateful to All Saints for hosting us and our guests.”

The 45-minute service, which starts at 2pm, will culminate with the lighting of individual candles of remembrance at the front of the church.

Harry added: “All Saints is a beautiful place for reflection and to remember and the service we hold has really been special when we’ve hosted it there before.”

The service is due to last less than an hour, followed by refreshments until 4pm provided by the church and hosted by the hospice team.
