Armed robbery at petrol filling station

Armed robbers have stolen cash and tobacco during an incident at Newtown's Tesco petrol station.

Police were called to the scene at 7am today after being alerted to the incident.

A Newtown Police spokesperson said: "The investigation is ongoing; anyone who was near the filling station shortly before 7am and saw anything suspicious, or anyone acting suspiciously, is urged to contact police by calling 101.
