Carmarthen Town have sacked manager Mark Aizelwood ahead of Newtown’s visit tomorrow in the JD Welsh Premier League.

The Old Gold moved quickly to terminate the contract of Aizelwood, who was convicted of fraud at Southwark Crown Court on Monday and have put assistant boss Neil Smothers in interim charge of the side to face the Robins.

Newtown will be boosted by their opening 4-3 win at Llandudno since the league’s halfway split but are likely to be without keeper Dave Jones following his red card on Saturday.

Struggling Caersws face another tough test in the Huws Gray Alliance with league leaders Caernarfon in the village while Llanidloes entertain Berriew in the Spar Mid Wales League.
