The Abergavenny-based company, which specialist in road projects in Wales, Midlands and South West England, has been acquired by Tarmac for an undisclosed sum.

The company is currently constructing the Newtown bypass which is due to be completed at the end of this year.

The work will not be affected by the acquisition by Tarmac which has said Alun Griffiths will continue to operate under its own name, rather than Tarmac.

Meanwhile, work is continuing well on the construction of the new road, according to officials. It is understood the road could be completed before its original completion date.
