Yellow warning for snow and ice

Police and the emergency services are warning motorists to take care as the cold snap hits the area.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for snow and ice over the next 24 hours as temperatures dip.

The area has already been affected by snow and police have urged motorists to take care on the roads.

The weather warning has been issued until 6pm on Saturday, although more snow is forecast for the weekend.

Residents are also being urged to check on elderly and vulnerable neighbours and relatives.
