Jobs going at newspaper HQ

24/11/2017 @ 10:46

The new owners of local newspaper The Powys County Times are to cut around 20 jobs at the company’s Mold headquarters.

NWN Media, which publishes the County Times, announced it had been sold by parent company Mojo Holdings to giant newspaper company Newsquest two months ago – sparking fears of job losses.

Now it has been reported that 20 jobs in the pre-press department, where advertisements are designed and created for the company’s papers across Mid and North Wales, are to go with production switched to other centres.

Reports of job losses across Newsquest titles in the UK have increased in the past week with staff cuts at Bradford, Darlington, Cirencester, Isle of Wight, Glasgow and Banbury.

The County Times has an office in Welshpool with sister title Border Counties Advertizer based in Oswestry.
