Newtown won the JD Welsh Premier League basement battle and three valuable points with a 2-0 win at Carmarthen.
The result left Carmarthen adrift at the bottom of the table and provided the Robins with a much-needed lift.
Super sub Luke Boundford inspired Newtown to a precious three points at a sodden Richmond Park.
The game was deadlocked when the long serving wide man came on and powered a header into the net eight minutes from time. And then he won a free kick which led to the second goal four minutes later, which saw Neil Mitchell follow in Jamie Reed’s parried set piece.
Caersws earned a valuable 1-1 draw at Ruthin in the Huws Gray Alliance. Steve Blenkinsop headed the Bluebirds ahead from a Jake Parr corner after 47 minutes but Ruthin fought back for a draw.
Carno slipped up in the Spar Mid Wales League, drawing 1-1 at Radnor Valley while Llanfair beat Borth 1-0.
