Figures released by Powys County Council confirm what we all thought - road traffic is increasing in the area.

While motorists in Newtown will be happy to know work on the town's bypass is ongoing and due to be completed late next year, it has been revealed that Powys' roads carried 1.58 billion kilometres of traffic in 2016.

The figure was tweeted by the county council yesterday.

It states that the figure is enough for to travel to and back from the moon 2.060 times. Maybe that's not so good for those stuck in congestion in Newtown.
