Newtown desperately need to get back to winning ways in the JD Welsh Premier League and Saturday presents their best chance.
The Robins travel to rock-bottom Carmarthen looking to end a run of disappointing results which came to a head with a disastrous late defeat at home to Bangor on Saturday which dropped them to next to bottom.
The game looked set to end in a 1-1 deadlock until a needless error saw goalkeeper Dave Jones lose possession of the ball with seven minutes left on the clock.
Defeat at Carmarthen will put the Robins firmly in relegation trouble and manager Chris Hughes could be tempted to make changes.
Caersws are also in the relegation places in the Huws Gray Alliance and will not be relishing the trip to Ruthin.
