Human chain protest Sunday

Montgomeryshire residents have been urged by campaigners and the two leading local Assembly Government candidates to make one-last attempt to block health proposals that will endanger lives.

 

Hundreds of people are expected to descend on the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital on Sunday in a bid to link hands and surround the services that have been earmarked for moving to Telford.

 

It’s a move that will add vital time onto hospital journeys from Mid Wales and thousands of residents have already signed a petition and attended lively local public meetings.

 

But Sunday is the last chance before health chiefs lock themselves behind closed doors to finalise their plans.

 

Both Liberal Democrat candidate and Russell George have come out this week to back the protest.
