Maintenance Engineer

An opportunity has arisen for a full time Maintenance Engineer to join our busy high volume manufacturing facility.

The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining all on site equipment to a scheduled maintenance plan and for the equipment to be in good repair at all times, whilst following health and safety procedures and policies at all times and working to current electrical regulations.

There is a strong focus on team working and on product quality as well as maximising efficiencies and minimising waste.

Main Duties Include:

·         Servicing and maintenance of all production equipment

·         Maintain records of breakdowns and repairs

·         Design and manufacture of mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and electronic equipment

·         Testing and maintaining the Emergency Lighting System

·         Servicing and maintenance of mechanical and hydraulic equipment

·         Servicing and maintenance of building and utilities

·         Maintain a stock of critical and essential spare parts to the specified quantity

·         Some machining capabilities, e.g. grinding/turning /milling

The successful applicant will have previous experience of working in a maintenance environment, ideally in the rubber or plastics industry and of mechanical and electrical/electronic servicing and repairs, combined with an understanding of PLC programs. A good understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics is desirable. Experience of automated machine building would be an advantage.

The role is for a day shift, 6am – 3pm Mon-Thurs, 6am-12.30pm Friday, with the potential of some working hours outside this shift pattern.
