Driver taken to hospital after town centre drama

Police have confirmed that a man was taken to hospital after suffering what they describe as “some sort of attack” while driving his car this morning in Newtown Town Centre.

 

High Street was closed near the Iceland store for an hour from 9.55am when two cars collided. Paramedics treated the man on the scene before taking him to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.

 

A police spokesperson confirmed: “The male driver of one of the vehicles appeared to have suffered some sort of attack before the collision occurred and ambulance treated him at the scene before conveying him to the hospital.”
