The vandalised door to the tomb of the Pryce Jones family at St Mary's Church in Newtown is set to be approved next week.

The door to the tomb was damaged earlier this year. The tomb is where members of the Pryce-Jones family are laid to rest, including Pryce Pryce-Jones, the entrepreneur who established the world's first mail order company based in Newtown.

There was outrage at the time that someone could deliberately damage such a property. The church and church yard are overseen by Newtown Town Council.

Its resources committee is expected to agree on Monday to funding the repairs.
