A scheme to help people keep warm and make savings on their energy bills is to host seminars in Newtown and Welshpool and could provide grants for home improvements.

“The Welsh Government Warm Homes Nest scheme is here to help you keep warm and save money on your energy bills,” aid a spokesperson.

“Nest is open to all householders in Wales and provides advice on saving energy, energy tariffs, and benefit entitlement.

“In addition to free advice, if you own or privately rent your home and you or someone you live with receives a means tested benefit you may be eligible for home improvements at no cost. These may include a new central heating boiler or insulation.”

The seminars take place at Newtown Library on Thursday, 14 September, Thursday, 12 October and Thursday, 9 November.

They take place at Welshpool Library on Monday, 11 September, Monday, 9 October and Thursday, 9 October.

Nest can be contacted on Freephone 0808 808 2244 or visit nestwales.org.uk for advice on reducing energy bills and to find out if you qualify for a package of free home energy efficiency improvements.
