A local holiday home park has raised £1,556 by holding a coffee morning in support of the Macmillan Cancer Support.

Steve Lewis, manager of Gwernydd Hall Holiday Park, New Mills, near Newtown, thanked all the holiday home owners on the park, suppliers, staff and helpers for supporting the annual Macmillan Coffee Morning, which last year raised just over £1,200.

A tombola and a raffle of donated prizes were organised, jewellery was made and cakes baked and donated to sell with coffee to raise money for the popular charity.

“We had fantastic support for our Macmillan Coffee Morning because everyone can relate to the charity and there’s a strong community spirit here,” said Mr Lewis.
